Every dog who walks through our doors brings a one-of-a-kind personality — from the class clown to the quiet cuddlebug, the social butterfly to the shy sweetheart. At Camp Ruff It, we get to see their stories unfold every day. This series is our way of sharing those behind-the-scenes moments, spotlighting the dogs who make Camp so special. Because here, every pup is the main character.

Episode Five Starring: Teddy and Luna
Scene 1 — Evening Arrival, Sleepover Bedroom
The lights are low. Soft beds line the walls. One couch sits like a throne in the bedroom.
Luna (already curled gracefully in the center cushion):This spot has optimal airflow and clear visibility of the door. I’ve done the research.
The door opens. Teddy trots in, carrying a slightly-too-large blanket in his mouth. He stops when he sees her.
Teddy (bright, hopeful): Hi! I heard we get real sleepovers here?
Staff Member (smiling, fluffing pillows): Every Night
Teddy notices Luna.
Teddy (softening): Oh, sorry. Is this seat taken?
Luna: It is... structured.
He gently hops up anyway, leaving space. She doesn't stop him.
Scene 2 — Lights Out
The staff turn off lights and settle into bed nearby. The room quiets. Soft breathing fills the space.
Teddy shifts, trying not to bump her.
Teddy (whispering): Okay good. Staff is right there, I love that part.
Luna: Camp Ruff It runs an efficient sleep operation.
His blanket slides off the couch.
Teddy: I have lost blanket integrity.
He leans dangerously over the edge. Luna calmly hooks the blanket with her paw and flips it back up.
Teddy (softly): You didn’t have to do that.
Luna: The couch prefers stability.
Their shoulders brush. Neither moves away.
Scene 3 — Midnight Honesty
Moonlight spills through the window. A staff member shifts gently in bed beside them.
Teddy (quiet now): Do you ever get used to boarding this long? I like that they're right here with us.
Luna watches the room for a moment before answering.
Luna: You learn the rhythms. The sounds. When the lights dim or when the staff grabs an extra blanket before they fall asleep. We're always looked after.
Teddy: Still... it's nice having someone on the couch too.
A pause. That lands.
Luna slowly lowers her head so it rests lightly against his side.
Luna: The couch is large. It can accommodate companionship.
Teddy’s tail thumps once against the cushion.
Scene 4 — Morning Temptation
Sunlight returns. A staff member opens the door for morning play.
Offscreen Dog: Teddy! Fetch squad!
Teddy perks up automatically. Instinct. Legacy. Reputation.
He looks at the doorway.
Then at Luna, still settled beside him.
Luna (cool, composed):Fetch will still exist in ten minutes.
Teddy considers this deeply.
Teddy: The couch might not.
He stays.
Luna pretends to examine the view. Her tail gives a small, satisfied sweep across the cushion.
Scene 5 — The Claim
Second night. No visible space between them now. Staff are tucked in close.
Other dogs are already asleep. The room hums softly.
Teddy: Hey Luna?
Luna: Yes, Teddy.
Teddy: Since we’re both extended stay… should we just make this official?
Luna lifts her paw and rests it gently over his.
Luna: Left cushion. Shared custody.
Teddy smiles, settling in closer.
The camera pulls back from the couch beneath the window — no longer a throne, but a partnership.
Narrator: At Camp Ruff It, sometimes love doesn’t arrive with fireworks. Sometimes… it just scoots a little closer.
