How to Keep Your Dogs Calm During Fireworks

We are all excited for an extra long 4th of July weekend, but your dogs might be preparing for a startling few days and nights as your friends and neighbors shoot off fireworks to celebrate America's 250th birthday.

This can be one of the most stressful times to be a pet parent, we totally understand. We want to help which is why we are letting you know how the American Kennel Club suggests you can keep your dogs calm during firework events.

The AKC really breaks it down for you and we encourage you to read their entire article and search for more if you need additional help with your furry family member.

Our favorite tips start with the easiest one: don't bring your dog to a fireworks show, you really never know how your dog might react to literal explosions in the sky and it's so much better for your dog to be at home at peace during the extravagant performances.

Another one of our favorite tips from the AKC is to play white noise or actual noise for your dog while fireworks are going off. Put on a movie, blast some music or use a sound machine to mask the fireworks.

Our final favorite tip is to talk to your Vet, who knows your pup well and can offer specific advice based on your dog's breed, size and temperament.

We hope you have a safe and fun 4th of July - for you and your pups!
